Early access
Installing ChordXray.
ChordXray is signed and notarized by Apple, so it installs like any other Mac app. The three steps below take about thirty seconds.
- 01
-
02
Drag ChordXray to your Applications folder.
Double-click the downloaded
.dmg, drag the ChordXray icon onto Applications. Eject the disk image when done. -
03
Open it.
Double-click ChordXray in Applications. macOS asks once whether you’re sure about an app downloaded from the internet, and notes that Apple checked it for malicious software. Click Open. You won’t be asked again, and updates never ask.
The first launch is the slow one.
ChordXray runs its analysis on your Mac rather than on a server, so the models have to live on your Mac too. The first time you open the app it downloads about 3 GB of them and shows you the progress. You pay that cost once. The models sit outside the app, so updates never re-download them.
If macOS says something else.
The one-time “downloaded from the internet” question in step three
is normal. What you should never see is
“ChordXray is damaged and can’t be opened”
or a dialog with no Open button. Every release is signed with our Apple
Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so either of those means the
download arrived damaged or incomplete. Delete the
.dmg,
download it again from this page, and try once more. Please don’t
work around it; a bad copy is exactly what that check catches.
After you’re in.
You get seven days of full features, no credit card. Past day seven the app prompts for a license key — either a paid one from the pricing page or an early-access key sent to your inbox if you’re testing for us.
